Lithium Batteries
LiFePO4 batteries for RVs, boats, and off-grid systems. Longer lifespan, lighter weight, and deeper discharge than lead-acid.
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries have replaced lead-acid as the default house bank for serious RVers, boaters, and off-grid builders. They weigh roughly half as much, deliver nearly twice the usable capacity per amp-hour, and last 5–10x longer in cycle count. The upfront price is higher, but the cost per cycle is dramatically lower over the life of the battery. Most also handle deeper discharges without damage, charge faster, and maintain a flat voltage curve so your appliances run at full performance until the bank is nearly empty.

Lithium Batteries Buyer's Guide
How much capacity do you actually need?
A single 100Ah LiFePO4 covers most weekend RV loads — lights, fans, phone charging, a 12V fridge, and overnight CPAP. Full-time RVers and liveaboards typically build 200–400Ah banks. Walk through the math in our guide on sizing a 12V battery bank before buying.
What to look for
Built-in BMS (battery management system) is non-negotiable — it protects against overcharge, over-discharge, and short circuits. Bluetooth monitoring is a nice-to-have that saves you from buying a separate battery monitor. Self-heating is critical if you camp in cold weather, since LiFePO4 cells can be damaged by charging below freezing without it.
Brands worth trusting
BattleBorn is the premium choice with the longest US track record and a 10-year warranty. Renogy and LiTime offer compelling value with built-in Bluetooth and self-heating at lower price points. For large banks where capacity-per-dollar matters most, the high-capacity 200Ah and 280Ah options from these brands are hard to beat.
